Diamond Club members can race into Tropicana now until September 12 to earn points to be entered into the drawing on Sunday, September 13. Three winners will be chosen to win a Dodge Challenger, 2010 Ford Mustang and the grand prize winner will win a 2010 Chevy Camaro. At 2 p.m. Tropicana will award the Ford Mustang, at 4 p.m. Tropicana will award the Dodge Challenger and at 6 p.m. the Chevy Camaro will be awarded. Atlantic City, NJ - Mixed martial arts promotion Ring of Combat is proud to announce that its 26th live event will take place on Friday, September 11th at the world-famous Tropicana Casino & Resort.
A proven attraction that has succeeded where most other MMA promotions have failed, Ring of Combat will feature some of the hardest hitting action that Atlantic City has ever witnessed.
For the ROC Heavyweight Championship, Ricardo Romero from Advanced Martial Arts (8-1) will compete against the heavy handed Bret Kohan(4-0) from RABJJ in what is sure to be an edge-of-your-seat fight. Romero’s only professional loss came from a disqualification due to a head kick to a downed opponent.
Costa Philippou (4-1) from Team Serra Longo will square off against Victor O’Donnell (8-0) from Team Walker Vision MMA for the ROC Middleweight Title. Philippou is coming off a 4 fight winning streak, all in ROC, but this is his first belt opportunity. O’Donnell is coming off a recent victory over Rafael “Sapo” Natal. Both fighters have knock-out and submission power which will ensure a great matchup.
Current ROC Lightweight Champion Chris “The Story” Liguori from RABJJ (9-8) will be defending his belt against 2008 Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Charles Oliveira da Silva (7-0) from Gold Team. Liguori is a seasoned veteran from premier organizations and has fought in the UFC, MFC, EliteXC and WCA. Silva is coming off a submission victory over Dom Stanco, a tough Bellmore kickboxer.
Finally, Deividas Taurosevicius (10-3) from Taurus MMA will take on Dwayne Shelton (9-4) from Team Combat for the ROC Featherwight Title. Of Taurosevicius’s 10 wins, 8 of them were by submission which will prove to be a challenge for Shelton whose most recent victories have been by decision.

Tropicana Hosts 2nd Annual Taste of The Quarter to benefit United Way, Monday, August 24
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (July 28, 2009) – South Jersey’s premier dining, shopping and entertainment complex, The Quarter at Tropicana Casino & Resort, will host the second annual Taste of The Quarter on Monday, August 24 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Building off of the success of last year’s event, the second annual Taste of The Quarter will feature more than 15 of Tropicana’s restaurants and nightlife venues serving special menu items. Participants include: Carmine’s, Cuba Libre, Red Square, The Palm, Ri-Ra Irish Pub, Planet Rose, P.F. Chang’s, Zeytinia, IMAX, Wellington’s, Il Verdi, A Dam Good Sports Bar, Hooters, A Dam Good Deli, Tango’s and Starbucks.
“Tropicana offers so many dining and entertainment options throughout the property, that events like Taste of The Quarter are a natural fit providing guests with the opportunity to experience them all at a value,” said Mark Giannantonio, president and C.O.O. “Our partnership this year with the United Way continues our promise to the community to be a strong neighbor and leader throughout the region.”
Taste of The Quarter will benefit the United Way with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the United Way. Funds raised by the event will support 60 local programs working to improve lives of Atlantic County residents with services such as: adult literacy education; emergency assistance for food, clothing and shelter; after school programming and pediatric free health services, including dental care.
